Alex Gillen

Alex is the middle child of 5 girls, and understands the meaning of teamwork, sacrifice, and competition. She grew up in a small town in the Central Valley of California, where summers are dry, surrounded by orchards of stone fruit. Drought and temperatures of 110 never stopped her from playing basketball all summer long on Nike Affiliated travel teams, or working at her grandparents’ ranch where they bred exotic birds for 20 years. She still adores the sound of rain and thunderstorms that are so prevalent in this area, and is happy she moved to a place that has so much greenery.

Alex graduated from California State University of Long Beach with a BA in Geography in 2012; her focus was on environmental and physical geography. For the past seven years she has been involved in education, as a substitute teacher and then a lead preschool teacher for three years at a private arts school. She has an abundance of patience that will get you through every situation with a level head. Working with children has taught her the art of going with the flow, but her personality also makes her extremely organized and prepared for anything.

During her free time she likes to play board games and video games with her husband, cuddle with her cat (when he feels like it), and enjoys handling her three geckos and her baby snake. She volunteers at Fresh Start Farm and Rescue 501c3 nonprofit working outreach and adoption events for reptiles that are often overlooked and under researched. The rescue hopes to show others that reptiles, especially snakes, are not to be feared, and should always be respected. Call her if you need help identifying or removing a reptile!

After going through the home buying process from start to finish within 3 months in 2018, Alex felt a pull toward real estate. Her broker made purchasing a home attainable, breaking things down step by step, and Alex would like to do that for all her future clients too.
